Giving Back has been funded to provide Broughty Ferry with a Youth Employability Programme. We are at present running a Test Programme to iron out all the issues before we start in August 2024. We are in discussion with The Grove academy and referrals to the programme will be available through them this educational term.

Introduction
The Broughty Ferry Youth Employability Programme has developed from the research completed by Dundee City Council, The Office for National Statistics, The Fair Start Scotland Report and the Children's Society. It is stated that
Dundee City Council = the unemployment in youths in Dundee is increasing and more work is needed in this area.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) = has published new data that shows just 22% of autistic adults are not in any kind of employment.
The Children's Society = In the last three years, the likelihood of young people having a mental health problem has increased by 50%. A third of young people with mental health problems and no degree are out of work.
Our Purpose
The Broughty Ferry Employability Programme is set up to allow youths with diagnosis of mental health or neurodivergence the availability for both employability skills and support. We plan to use the Outcome Star model looking at the youths holistically and developing links to training and developing confidence, coping mechanism and strategies to support them on their journey to employment. This could be barista training, mental health training, breathing techniques grounding etc. As giving back is a new charity it aims to develop new relationships to assist the youths where needed. The charity itself has the Forma Mentis project and is at present working on Sakura a community café. These project will enable the youths to work in the community and develop their skills and confidence with support form the other staff and their own worker.

Use the Outcome Star model to assess the individual youths needs and set out a support plan Link the youth into a project that will assist the areas of need Provide a worker to assist with their mental health coping mechanism and strategies. Collate information regarding the Programme to share with Partners for assistance with funding etc.
Our Role:
This is a new programme, as such the role will develop over time. We seek to develop and manage The Broughty Ferry Youth Employability Programme, working alongside professionals for individuals on the programme.
Individual plan:
We will co-operate to develop the individual plan, identifying the tasks required to ensure the success of your Employability Programme. We commit to developing greater communication links with designated services and share information required following GDPR.
