Meet Our Funders

  • Giving Back have received funding to support NHS Tayside’s vision. The vision of the charity is to help people in Tayside live better for longer. This will be done through a new funding programme distributing funds to NHS Tayside services and the third sector, fundraising to increase the impact of the charity and wraparound support offering partnership opportunities, advice and collaboration. Sakura the new community Café in Dawson Park endeavours to promote this vision through work with the community.

  • Giving Back has received funding to support the community with the following

  • The Trust supports a wide range of charitable purposes at the discretion of the Trustees with priority given to assisting Dundee and Tayside charities. Northwood have giving funding to Giving Back to assist with the initial set up and work to be completed with the community café in Dawson Park

  • Giving Back has received funding to support the following in Dundee:- The intended outcome of the Fund is to develop a culture of mental wellbeing and prevention within local communities and across Scotland with improved awareness of how we can all stay well and help ourselves and others.

  • To give groups and organisations promoting community safety activities consistent with the Dundee Community Safety Partnership Strategy and Action Plan (summarised below) access to grant aid to deliver locally based responses to identified community safety issues.

  • The James Wood Bequest Fund awards grants to a wide range of charities including medical care, disabilities, family support, carers and more. They have awarded funding to Giving Back to assists with the Sakura Café development.

  • Giving Back received funding from the Arnold Clark Community Fund. This fund helps registered UK charities and community groups close to our branches build stronger communities across the UK. As part of our commitment to give back to the communities in which we operate, they believe that by caring for these communities today, we can help them create a better future.

  • The Robertson Trust provide funding for organisations and initiatives that address:

    • Financial security: tackling the financial and material effects of poverty on people and communities

    • Emotional wellbeing and relationships: ensuring people have emotional wellbeing, and confidence and strength in their relationships with others

    • Education pathways: equipping people for the future by supporting learning and skills

    • Work pathways: improving employability services, and employability rates, for key population groups currently underrepresented in the labour market, and overrepresented in low paid, insecure, work.

    We will fund work that helps to meet people’s immediate need, recognising that Covid-19 has sharpened this within communities who were already vulnerable to financial hardship and social upheaval.

  • The Trust operates by giving grants to organisations, the charitable object is the advancement of education for the public benefit. The Trustees have interpreted that as enabling them to support other charities working to help the education and development of young people, other organisations which carry out similar functions and individuals who need assistance with courses. They have funded equipment for the YEP by Giving Back

  • Giving back has received funding from the CORRA Boost Small Grants programme 2024 this was for local community organisations across Scotland supporting children and families affected by poverty. CORRA has helped to fund the Broughty Ferry Youth Employability Programme

  • Giving Back received funding from DCC Common Good Fund. this fund is set up available for one-off awards that support the common good.

  • Giving Back have been awarded the Equality and diversity fund from Dundee City council. The aim of the grant fund is to:

    Directly support Dundee City Council’s Mainstreaming Equalities Agenda and meet our General Duty to pay due regard to the need to:

    • Eliminate discrimination

    • Advance equality of opportunity

    • Promote good relations across the range of protected characteristics

  • Giving Back has received a voucher for a fridge.

    This funding was for Charities who: 

    Currently not be able to accept chilled food due to a lack of chilled storage capacity (NB: these organisations must also be willing to implement the increased food safety required to accept chilled food, and will need a re-audit on receipt of the fridge before chilled food can be distributed)

     OR have limited chilled capacity due to a lack of fridge space that would be increased through the acquisition of an additional fridge

    Be willing and able to accept fresh dairy milk 

  • Giving back has received funding from Scotmid for 2 community fun days . Applications are welcomed for this funding including local community, self-help, voluntary groups, and charities (including local branches of national charities), or individuals acting for the benefit of the local community. The primary focus must fall into one of the following categories: • +65 groups (age) • Active Lifestyles • Arts & Culture • Children/Youth • Community Group • Co-operative • Environment • Fair Trade • Health & Wellbeing • Social Inclusion
